For a traditional take on the much loved Christmas dinner in comfortable surroundings, look no further than the sleek and chic cocktail and gastro-bar 97 & Social, situated on Newcastle’s popular Osborne Road. With mouth-watering two and three course Christmas menus available priced at £14.99 and £17.99 respectively, all served against the backdrop of a roaring fire, what’s not to love? The mini Christmas pudding with ice cream and Pedro X’iminez sauce gets our vote!
If you’re after something a little less conventional simply head next door to Sohe – Newcastle’s top Asian-fusion restaurant for season and spice with its flavour-packed Christmas menu; a selection of carefully-crafted Asian fusion cuisine guaranteed to leave your taste buds tingling. Festive menus available cover a two or three course lunch at £11.90 and £14.90 respectively and evening offers of two and three course dinners at £21.90 and £24.90.
For the more casual amongst you, Spy Bar, the infamous sports bar which is also located on Osborne Road, will be offering the epitome of laid-back dining with its quirky ‘Saint Nick’s Picks’ turkey board platter – deliciously moist turkey meat accompanied by brioche buns, stuffing and gravy meaning customers can make their own turkey sarnies. Alternatively why not opt for one of their notorious burgers – the ‘Christmas Winner’ and ‘Reindog’ are tipped to be this year’s most popular.
A little further afield, we’ll be hosting a mini disco and pizza party on Saturday 10th December at Fratello’s Double Tree Newcastle Airport. Strictly for kids (sorry guys), proceedings kick off at 12pm with tickets priced at £10 per child including lunch and entertainment. Booking is advised to ensure your tykes get a peep of Santa who will send them on their way with a gift – only if they’ve been good of course… Who doesn’t love a bit of festive bribery?
North of the border and right in the heart of Edinburgh lies Twenty Princes Street, one of Cairn Group’s most captivating venues offering unrivalled views of what is perhaps one of the UK’s most festive cities.
